Roger Paul Neilson , CM (16. Juni 1934 – 21. Juni 2003) war ein kanadischer Eishockeytrainer , vor allem in der National Hockey League (NHL), und war für viele Innovationen im Spiel verantwortlich. Er ist Mitglied der Hockey Hall of Fame in der Kategorie Baumeister.
In Toronto geboren, besuchte er eine öffentliche High School, das North Toronto Collegiate Institute . Neilsons Trainerkarriere begann als Student an der McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, wo er bis zum Abschluss mit einem Abschluss in Sportunterricht in Hockey und Baseball trainierte .
